Local Transport

Moving around in Bogota is easy. The Eastern hills of Monserrate and Guadalupe are the principal reference landmarks. Main roads (Carreras) run parallel north-south and numbering increases from East to West. The streets (Calles) run perpendicular to the hills East-West, and numbers increase from south to north.

There are several means of public transport. One is the Metropolitan Mass Transit System, Transmilenio, a system that serves almost all the city.

There are over 50,000 licensed taxis in Bogota, which can be identified through their yellow color. It is advisable to book a taxi by phone or through the Hotel and you will be provided with a code number to check with the driver.

The hotel can also arrange for rental of a car with driver which we recommend for longer trips.
